Notice of Casual Vacancy
LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1972 (sec. 87(2))
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a casual vacancy has occurred in the office of Councillor for Heath Hayes & Wimblebury Parish Council following the resignation of Cllr J Harper on the 26th January 2026.
Ten local government electors for the Parish from the New Heath Hayes Ward may request the Returning Officer to hold an election to fill the vacancy. That request must be made within fourteen days excluding dies non.
The fourteen-day notice period ends 5pm on the 13th February 2026.
The Proper Officer is:
The Returning Officer, Cannock Chase District Council, Civic Centre, Beecroft Road, Cannock WS11 1BG.
If a request to hold an election is not received during the permitted time period the Parish Council must, as soon as practicable after the expiry of the fourteen-day period, co-opt a person to fill the vacancy.
